At this point, it might be easier to list off the 'Arrested Development' characters who won't be returning for Netflix's upcoming revival season, but some reveals are too good not to share. Fan-favorite Lucille-squealing private "detective" Gene Parmesan will indeed return within the 14 new episodes as played by actor Martin Mull. Find out how Gene Parmesan will return to surprise Lucille in 'Arrested Development' season 4 inside!

He got us again! After keeping largely quiet during filming of 'Arrested Development' season 4, Martin Mull has been confirmed to return as fan-favorite character Gene Parmesan at some point during Netflix's upcoming revival season. The news was first revealed by Jessica Walter herself, explaining to Vulture the genesis of her famous squealing reactions to the poorly-disguised detective.

Martin Mull, who plays Gene, is so adorable. I did like getting to smile and scream. You know, there’s something very little-girly about Lucille. I don’t see her as any kind of a villain. She gets excited about these surprises of his because I believe that’s how she’d react!

Gene comes back, he’s in our new season. He fools me again! I couldn’t wait to film that episode, truly.

Elsewhere, ‘Arrested Development’ season 4 will feature appearances from Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen, Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter, ‘Parks and Recreation‘s’ Ben Schwartz, ‘Up All Night’s’ Chris Diamantopoulos, all three stars of Comedy Central’s ‘Workaholics,’ ‘Mad Men’s’ John Slattery, Isla Fisher and Terry Crews, as well as returning series players Ben Stiller, James Lipton, Carl Weathers, Jeff Garlin, Liza Minnelli, Judy Greer, Henry Winkler and Scott Baio.

Well, what say you? Are you excited and flailing that Gene got us again? Tell us what you want to see from 'Arrested Development' season 4 in the comments! And just to refresh your memory of Gene Parmesan...
