You may have noticed something intriguing in one of those Avengers: Age of Ultron trailers, and you weren’t alone. A brief glimpse at a mystery woman in the trailer inspired the internet to speculate about her involvement in the film, but you can officially stop your speculating because she won’t be in the film after all. The mystery of the Avengers: Age of Ultron mystery woman is over.

A few months ago, we got in on the speculation when the second Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was released. Along with lots of other Marvel fans and film sites, we puzzled over the enigmatic shot of a woman in a cave, seen from behind as she disrobes. Many assumed she might be a member of the Dora Milaje, the protectors of Black Panther, while others suggested that she might be his sister.

EW caught an early screening of the film and have effectively put those rumors to rest — because she’s not in the film at all. Had she not been cut, she likely would have been involved with Thor’s storyline, which sees him entering a mystical cave. As the site notes, this part of Thor’s plot seems to have been cut down for time:

Thor’s whole journey to this cave is a bit of a headscratcher, which suggests a subplot that was seriously truncated.

According to Marvel’s own Kevin Feige, the mystery woman is...no one important. She's just a random Asgardian woman while Thor is trippin' on Scarlet Witch's mind game. Here’s what he told Cinema Blend in an interview:

That was just the imagery. That was just interesting imagery as part of a dream sequence… It was part of when Thor was looking around at the oddity and the strangeness happening and it was just an image marketing grabbed.

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1.
