'Avengers 2' has only just begun filming, but if you already can't wait for next summer, you can get your first look at the superhero sequel next month as ABC premieres the special, 'Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe,' which will include a "sneak peek" at 'Avengers 2' and other upcoming Marvel properties.

The one-hour special goes behind the scenes of Marvel Studios and gives fans some unprecedented access to how their empire works, or as the press release puts it: "a front row seat to the inception of Marvel Studios, the record-breaking films, the cultural phenomenon, and further expansion of the universe."

In addition to 'Avengers 2,' we're also promised never-before-seen looks at both 'Captain America 2' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (Marvel's two remaining 2014 films).

And, because this is ABC, they'll also spend a considerable amount of time discussing 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and previewing footage from upcoming episodes. While that show has been moderately successful, ABC would clearly like for that audience to grow and a good way to do that is to get more of the movie audience to be tuning in on a regular basis.

The question is whether this will be an interesting docu-special that really gives us some insight or whether it will essentially be an hour-long informercial for Marvel products. Either way, we'll all be watching because the Marvel universe is so damn good and we're suckers for some new footage.

'Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe' will premiere Tuesday, March 18 at 8pm EST.
