While last night Paul Bettany was cast as Vision in 'Avengers 2,' it's not the last of the big superhero additions to the upcoming sequel. In fact, Marvel and director Joss Whedon still have one last trick up their sleeve: Ms. Marvel.

Latino Review is reporting that the last major role to cast in the film is that of Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel has long been rumored to be an addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with many speculating she would be the first Marvel female superhero to get her own film. Katee Sackhoff had previously been rumored for role, telling us last September in an interview:

Um, you know, I’d love to play Miss Marvel. Yeah, I mean, and that’d be like a dream come true. You know?

Whether or not she remains interested or if Marvel and Whedon have any interest in her remains to be seen.

Carol Danvers was an Air Force pilot, later working at NASA as a head of security. While investigating the Kree (an alien race), she was kidnapped by an alien, who eventually battled Captain Marvel who had come to save her. During their fight, Carol was knocked into the Kree Psyche-Magnitron (stay with us know) and absorbed powers of both Captain Marvel and Yon-Rogg, the Kree alien.

Her powers include the typical superhero stuff like increased strength, agility and flight, while also adding the ability to fire photon blasts from her hand and absorbing energy (so, she could, say, absorb a lightning bolt fired from Thor and fire it right back at him).

While Latino Review doesn't give away how Carol Danvers will be introduced in the film, we'll guess that she's a part of S.H.I.E.L.D. who, at some point during the ensuing battle with Ultron, is transformed into Ms. Marvel. In the comics, she was also romantically linked with Vision, but we'll imagine that won't be a major part of this storyline.

'The Avengers 2' opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
