Earlier this week we reported that the “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One — Avengers Assembled Box Set” would be delayed indefinitely as Marvel Studios and Disney Home Entertainment sorted through a lawsuit centered around the packaging shown above. This was disappointing for fans who were looking forward to the collectible box set and had already put money down to pre-order the 10-disc set. Well, we have some good news...

We can now confirm that the "Avengers Assembled Box Set" will indeed be released and is now scheduled for a spring 2013 date. The box set will obviously feature redesigned package as Marvel and Disney sort through the legal issues surrounding the attache packaging.

As previously reported, luggage manufacturer Rimowa filed suit against Marvel and Disney claiming that one of their patented designs was being used without permission.

Marvel, Disney and retailers had halted all pre-orders and the status of those pre-orders were in doubt, but we're happy to report that all existing pre-orders for "Avengers Assembled Box Set" will be applied to the redesigned edition. The Box Set includes the Blu-ray for 'The Avengers' as well as Blu-rays for all the other films in Phase One of the Marvel universe ('Iron Man,' 'The Incredible Hulk,' 'Iron Man 2,' 'Thor' and 'Captain America').
