The cast of God Particle is shaping up to be a great one, and if nothing else, the upcoming sci-fi thriller from Bad Robot and J.J. Abrams will have no shortage of talent. The latest additions to the stellar interstellar lineup include Chris O’Dowd, Zhang Ziyi, Aksel Hennie (who recently starred in another space-centric film — The Martian) and John Ortiz. Let’s just hope God Particle can live up to its ensemble.

Per THR, Chris O’Dowd and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Zhang Ziyi have joined God Particle, while Variety adds the casting of Aksel Hennie and Togetherness (RIP!) star John Ortiz. God Particle will begin production this summer with Nigerian filmmaker Julius Onah, who previously helmed 2015 thriller The Girl Is in Trouble.

God Particle also stars David Oyelowo, John Krasinski, Elizabeth Debicki and Daniel Bruhl, and is based on a screenplay by Doug Jung (Star Trek Beyond) and Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street). The story centers on the crew of an American space station and the disastrous results of their efforts to harvest an elusive energy source known as the “God particle.” When an accident with a particle accelerator triggers a global catastrophe, the crew members believe they’re stranded…until they encounter signs of another space station.

Given its inclusion of a particle accelerator, you can bet God Particle is going to get mighty weird, playing with concepts of reality and space / time. Some have speculated that the film could be another semi-sequel to Cloverfield; following the release of 10 Cloverfield Lane, J.J. Abrams said Bad Robot had at least one more potential follow-up in the works.

God Particle hits theaters on February 24, 2017.
