Sorry Vinny Chase, you've been replaced; Jason Momoa has been added to 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' as Aquaman. Considering that the film is something of a warm up for 'Justice League,' it looks like they've got one more player in place for future sequels/spinoffs.

This news comes from Drew McWeeny over at Hitfix, and we had heard that Momoa tried out for the movie last year, but now it looks like it's confirmed. He would join Henry Cavill's Superman, Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher's Cyborg in the film, along with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons' Alfred as the new additions to this DC universe, along with returning players Laurence Fishburne (as Perry White) and Amy Adams (as Lois Lane).

Though the role is likely to be small, Warner Brothers has big plans for their DC universe if rumors are to be believed, though the character was not mentioned for a stand alone adventure in previous reports. As Aquaman has been reduced to a punchline (at least pop-culturally), the casting of Momoa is smart as he's got a large onscreen presence (he previously played Conan the Barbarian), but also a sense of humor about himself. 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' is scheduled to hit theaters May 6, 2016.
