'Batman vs. Superman' Writer Reveals Who Would Win That FightMike Sampson |
It's one of the classic superhero fanboy debates: who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman? Well, with 'Batman vs. Superman' coming out in 2015, we won't have to wait that long to find out the answer, but already the films writer, David S. Goyer, has chimed in with his thoughts on who would win.
Superman, of course!
Goyer was talking to the Associated Press, giving an update on 'Batman vs. Superman' and was eventually asked who he thought would win in that fight. While he could've not tipped his hand, Goyer had some definitive thoughts on the classic superhero battle.
Most comic book purest would says Batman because he is the ultimate strategist. Even though it makes no sense what so ever. If Superman just flicked his finger Batman would be done for.
That's certainly true, assuming Batman would show up to a fight with Superman completely unprepared. But, that's so not Batman. The whole enduring appeal of Batman is that, while an adept fighter, he has no superpowers except for his money and his brains. If you think Batman would try to fight Superman without the added help of a little Kryptonite, you're nuts.
In fact, in 'The Dark Knight Falls,' Batman hires Green Arrow to shoot Superman with a Kryptonite-tipped arrow in the heart and is about to deliver the death blow when...well, we don't want to spoil it for you.
Now, keep in mind that 'Batman vs. Superman' is technically 'Man of Steel 2' but considering they're also essentially rebooting the Batman franchise and prepping for 'Justice League,' it's obvious that no one is going to really win the battle. It's like Vin Diesel fighting The Rock in 'Fast and Furious 6.' The had a really badass fight, got separated and eventually teamed up to get the real bad guys.
But, if you had to pick, who do you think would win in a fight between Batman and Superman?
