‘Boardwalk Empire’ Season 3 Trailer Is Gangster, Plain and Simple

Sure, it's been nice the way 'Boardwalk Empire' has built toward its third season with a few leaks there and there, pouring shots (photos), and mixing together old footage, but this isn't prohibition, we want the good stuff!  That's why the latest look at 'Boardwalk Empire' season 3 is the best yet, chock full of new faces, new rivalries, and everything that makes 'Boardwalk Empire' worth the wait.  But what's the catch?

While we're sure to get a better, more official look from HBO in the coming days, SpoilerTV managed to get their hands on an early version of the official 'Boardwalk Empire' season 3 trailer, in advance of the show's September 16 premiere.  You'll see that all your old favorite characters are back, ready to put bullets in one another just as soon as make a drink, while it's clear what the biggest conflict  of the season will be: new series regular Bobby Canavale as Gyp Rosetti!

With no more Jimmy Darmody to kick around, it's clear that Gyp Rosetti acts as something of a wild card to 'Boardwalk Empire' season 3, both Nucky and a number of other characters unnerved by his presence and troublesome ways.  But will his menace last the season, or has Nucky gone full gangster enought to put him down too?

After Michael Pitt's departure as Jimmy, Paz de la Huerta’s Lucy Danziger will no longer be present,  while joining ‘Boardwalk Empire’s’ third season is character actor Stephen Root in a recurring role. According to reports, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 3 will open some 15 months after the events of “To the Lost,” landing on New Year’s Eve 1922-1923.
