'Boardwalk Empire' has been on a major casting hot-streak going into its fourth season of production, already including some major HBO players and Hollywood stars alike. The latest to sign up for a recurring arc is none other than Hollywood royalty, as Patricia Arquette has been announced for a major part opposite Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson in the HBO gangster drama. Find out who Patricia Arquette brings to life in 'Boardwalk Empire' season 4 inside!

A number of bodies hit the floor (or the beach) in 'Boardwalk Empire's season 3 finale "Margate Sands," and season 4 has no shortage of new faces to inspire the same fear. Via Deadline, we've learned that Patricia Arquette has signed on for a major recurring role in the fourth season, that of Tampa speakeasy owner Sally Wheet. Described as having a tough-as-nails attitude and connections to local gangsters, Arquette's character sounds exactly like the kind of strong female figure to spark Nucky's interest, no?

Arquette joins a season that thus far includes 'The Killing' star Eric Ladin as a young J. Edgar Hoover, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘ star Jeffrey Wright as an educated Harlem leader, ‘True Blood‘ star Brian Geraghty, Ron Livingston as a new regular role, and HBO vet Domenick Lombardozzi as Chicago mobster Ralph Capone, elder brother to Al Capone (Stephen Graham).

Show-runner Terence Winter also previously confirmed of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4 that Gretchen Mol and Kelly MacDonald would indeed return, despite their ambiguous presences at the end of season 3, while ‘Man of Steel‘s Michael Shannon (Nelson Van Alden) would have a stronger presence as a member of Al Capone’s crew.

Well, what say you? Are you excited for ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4 now that Patricia Arquette has joined the cast? No longer half a gangster, where do you hope to see Nucky Thompson go next?
