It's been a long time since we've checked in with the Disney Channel's forthcoming 'Boy Meets World' sequel-spinoff series 'Girl Meets World,' which itself won't officially premiere until the summer, but the new series based on Cory's and Topanga's children has already booked its first major reunion. Lee Norris will reprise his role as Cory and Shawn's classmate Minkus in an early episode, but what's the latest on the 'Boy Meets World' reunion series?

Courtesy of E!, Norris will appear in an unknown capacity as the grown up incarnation of Minkus, who had famously been "willed" out of existence by Shawn and Cory, only to reappear in the graduation installment of the classic ABC series as a fellow senior, having spent the majority of his off-camera time "over there," the unseen side of John Adams High that also apparently claimed Mr. Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn) after his years-prior motorcycle accident.

"I've had a great time being back on set with some of my old friends," Norris said in a statement to E!. "It still amazes me how many people love and remember Minkus, and I'm excited for the fans to catch up with him after all these years." Scheduled to premiere this summer with 21 episodes, here's how The Disney Channel describes 'Girl Meets World':

Set in New York City, the new comedy series will tell the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that Boy Meets World is renowned for — only this time from a tween girl’s perspective — as the curious and bright 7th grader Riley and her quick-witted friend Maya (played by Sabrina Carpenter) embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.  But their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley’s dad who’s also a faculty member — and their new History teacher — and Riley’s mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding.

The series features Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter in the roles of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley Matthews, and Riley’s Shawn Hunter-esque friend Maya Fox, with Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprising their roles from the original series. William Daniels (Feenay!) will return for the pilot episode, though it remains to be seen what ‘Boy Meets World’ alum will make official appearances as time goes on.

We're admittedly hoping for bigger game, but what do you think? Check out Minkus' return to the 'Boy Meets World' universe in the photo above, and tell us who you'd like to see pop up in 'Girl Meets World'!
