Literally amazing news for 'Californication' fans today, as even though the sexy Showtime series won't maintain a presence at Comic-Con 2013 (you can still catch David Duchovny at the 'X-Files' reunion panel), the upcoming seventh season added yet another high-profile guest star. 'Parks and Recreation' star Rob Lowe will return as his troubled actor character, Eddie Nero, but for how long?

Lowe has recurred sporadically as Nero throughout the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons, initially hired to play the filming version of Hank Moody (Duchovny), and will be present for at least one episode of the coming season. Showtime first announced the character's return over Twitter, without specifying an exact number.

In addition to Lowe's returning role, 'Californication''s seventh and potentially final season will include 'Project X' star Oliver Cooper, ‘The Hangover Part 3‘ star Heather Graham as a woman from Hank’s past whose arrival “upends his life,” and former ’24′ star Mary Lynn Rajskub in a three-episode guest arc as a neurotic writer. The stars join ‘The Sopranos’ vet Michael Imperioli, previously announced to take the role of TV producer Rick Rath, who plays a “key role” in Hank Moody’s latest business venture.

We'll see what details come out on 'Californication' season 7, but what say you? Are you litrally going out of your mind that Rob Lowe will return?
