Infinity Ward and Activision confirmed the arrival of co-operative multiplayer Extinction mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts with a brand-new trailer.

As you can see in the trailer above, there's an invasion on, and the military is none too pleased to see the world in a state of disrepair. There are hints that this world is different from that of the regular Earth we currently occupy, or that Ghosts will take place in, but details on the narrative are sparse at the moment.

Like Treyarch's Zombies, the four-player mode will have people scavenging for survival against an onslaught of enemy forces. Players will be able to rank up specific classes, meaning each time you play could offer a different experience depending on which character you choose. There will also be a playable female character in Extinction, which furthers Infinity Ward's efforts in diversifying Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be out on Nov. 5 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The next-gen versions will launch respectively with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
