When 'Captain America 2' added Anthony Mackie to the cast to star as Falcon, we were a little surprised. He is, after all, a character that has a psychic link with all birds and flies around with wings. We were very curious to see how Marvel was going to pull off this character and now, as filming continues in Los Angeles, we get our first look at Falcon in action. And...he doesn't look that bad.

These shots from the 'Captain America 2' set don't show Falcon with his flying harness yet, but as you can see from the concept art above, he will definitely be wearing it as the film progresses.

The suit Mackie is wearing in these photos closely resembles the one in the sketch above, which leads us to believe that the wings will also look similar (and very likely could be added via CGI in post-production).

All things told, the suit looks pretty good and somewhat in line with what Captain America himself wore towards the later part of the original film. We're going to assume that Marvel has ditched the psychic-connection-with-birds part of Falcon's past and will simply use the flying harness as some sort of military operation/test equipment.

What do you think? Take a look at these shots below and let us know if you're ready to see Falcon in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' or if the character is just a little too corny.
