Well that was fast! Last week we reported that Frank Grillo tested for the role of Crossbones, the main villain in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' and today it's been officially confirmed: Frank Grillo is Crossbones in the upcoming sequel.

Casting is underway for 'Captain America 2,' (dubbed 'The Winter Soldier') the hotly-anticipated sequel to last summer's 'Captain America' featuring Chris Evans reprising his role as the Cap. The search has been on for a leading lady with talk ranging from Alison Brie to Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but what about the film's big bad guy? Who will Cap be up against this time?

The answer is Crossbones -- in the comic he often showed up as one of Red Skull's henchman, though we doubt the red-faced baddie will be making an appearance in the sequel. Crossbones, or Brock Rumlow, also played a crucial part in the Civil War storyline, which also includes confirmed characters for 'The Winter Soldier' -- Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

Variety's Marc Graser confirmed via Twitter that Frank Grillo, who recently tested for the role of Crossbones, has indeed landed the role. You may recognize the actor from his parts in 'Warrior' and 'The Grey'; he also has roles in this year's 'End of Watch,' and the upcoming films 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'Gangster Squad.'
