ABC's long-running hit drama 'Castle' won't be taking the stage at Comic-Con 2013, as with the previous year, but that doesn't mean the Nathan Fillion-starring series doesn't have some big news to pen for season 6. 'House' vet and recent 'House of Lies' star Lisa Edelstein has signed on for a major new recurring role in the upcoming fall season, but as whom, you ask?

According to TVLine, Edelstein will take the role of Rachel McCord, a tough and highly skilled Federal Investigator who plays a vital role in Beckett’s decisions about her future. Fans of the series will remember that season 5 left off on Beckett (Stana Katic) being offered a chance move to D.C. to work on a special task force in the US Attorney General’s office, one which Castle himself complicated with his marriage proposal.

For her part, since declining to return for the final season and episode of FOX's 'House,' Edelstein has popped up in sporadic roles on such series as Showtime's 'House of Lies,' ABC's 'Scandal,' as well as CBS dramas 'Elementary' and 'The Good Wife.'

Well, 'Castle' fans, what say you? Are you excited to see Edelstein popping up to complicate things on season 6 this fall? Where do you expect Castle and Beckett's relationship to end up?
