'The Dark Knight Rises' director's cut was first rumored a week ago when it was reported the upcoming 'Dark Knight Rises' DVD and Blu-ray would include an additional 30-minutes of footage edited into the theatrical cut. But the actual director himself, Christopher Nolan, has something to say about this and hopefully you didn't let yourself get too excited.

The Playlist confirmed with Nolan's reps that "no such plans" for a 'Dark Knight Rises' director's cut exist and that any reports to the contrary are "incorrect." So there.

We were skeptical of the original report, even if it did include some details on what the director's cut would include. The news alleged that the DVD and Blu-ray would include more footage of Bane's origin, including how he got his mask.

Those scenes still may be seen on the eventual 'Dark Knight Rises' DVD and Blu-ray but they won't be edited into the film or included in any kind of 'Dark Knight Rises' director's cut.

For now, you'll just have to trust the version of 'The Dark Knight Rises' that you saw in theaters is precisely the version of the film that Christopher Nolan wanted you to see.
