Behold, a 'Star Wars' cake fitting of the Empire. For the 'Star Wars' Celebration convention this past weekend in Orlando, Florida, Oak Leaf Cakes was commissioned to created a life-size Darth Vader cake. 386 eggs and 57 lbs. of butter later, they achieved their goal. But was it dark chocolate? (Get it? Dark chocolate?........)

This Darth Vader cake stood 6' 7" (almost exactly the height of David Prowse, the actor who played Vader in the original trilogy) and weighed a whopping 500 lbs. All of Vader was edible including his cape, which was over 100 lbs of our marshmallow fondant and hung freely from his shoulders and his light saber, a single, solid piece of watermelon flavored poured sugar.

The cake, which took over two weeks to make, cost over $2,000 to produce and was donated by Oak Leaf Cakes to the 'Star Wars' convention.

Check out some behind the scenes photos below on how the cake was produced and subsequently enjoyed.
