Here we go again! Another day, and yet another 'Doctor Strange' update: the latest news has Marvel adding one -- just one -- more name to the ever-growing list of possible stars to play the Sorcerer Supreme, while we've learned that at least a couple of actors haven't quite been crossed off that list just yet: most notably Joaquin Phoenix, who had previously been in negotiations with Marvel over the summer.

According to The Wrap, Marvel has their sights set on Colin Farrell, who is preparing to shoot season 2 of the hit HBO series 'True Detective,' which could make him a pretty big deal. And although it was reported that negotiations fell through with Joaquin Phoenix over the summer, it's now being said that he's not quite out of the running just yet. We're still not sold on the idea that an actor like Phoenix would sign a contract with Marvel, which would likely require a multiple-film commitment.

The Wrap also adds that Benedict Cumberbatch remains on Marvel's list as well, although his commitment to filming season 3 of 'Sherlock' as well as performing in a play next year may get in the way of starring in 'Doctor Strange.'

This week it was also reported that the studio was looking at Ewan McGregor, Oscar Isaac, Jake Gyllenhaal, Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto (again), and that Ryan Gosling had taken a meeting with Marvel about the role. Gosling also met with WB for a potential role in 'Suicide Squad.' How many more names will we add to the list next week? Who knows!
