'Edge of Tomorrow' is the upcoming sci-fi/action film starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt that has a cool premise, but a really horrible title. In the film, Cruise plays an army grunt battling aliens in the future, stuck in a 'Groundhog Day' style loop, where every time he dies, he's reborn again, retaining his knowledge and getting smarter and stronger. The trailer is online tomorrow and today we have some new photos from the film to tide you over.

We saw some early 'Edge of Tomorrow' footage at Comic-Con earlier this year and, whilst we love Tom Cruise and thought the script was sorta brilliant (then titled the massively superior 'All You Need is Kill'), we couldn't help but feel let down. Even though it's not actually based on a video game, it sure feels like it (this is probably as close as we'll ever come to a 'Halo' movie) and the action felt flat. It didn't look altogether horrible, but it just looked uninteresting. With a few more months under their belt to work on the film's complicated FX, let's hope tomorrow's trailer is an improvement. (The footage we saw didn't even show the aliens at all.)

Below, courtesy of USA Today, we get two new looks at the film, one with Tom Cruise, clunking along in his exo-suit and another with Emily Blunt, showing off her guns. Yes, if you can believe it, in this film Tom Cruise is the inexperienced warrior, while Blunt is the badass warrior (the characters in the film have nicknamed her "Full Metal B---"). If it helps, Bill Paxton is in the movie and, in an homage to 'Aliens,' plays a soldier during an alien attack.

Directed by Doug Liman ('The Bourne Identity'), 'Edge of Tomorrow' opens in theaters on June 6, 2014.
