'Exodus: Gods and Kings' Photos Reveal Ridley Scott's Biblical EpicBritt Hayes |
Later this year, director Ridley Scott is bringing us yet another film epic with the biblical story of Moses in 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' (formerly titled 'Exodus'), and today brings an in-depth look at stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton and the rest of the cast. It's a big year for Bible stories, but like 'Noah,' this one isn't going to be very typical.
This new look comes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, which brings us several photos from the set of 'Exodus: Gods and Kings,' a film that tells the story of Moses (played by Christian Bale), a prophet who set about to free some 600,000 slaves from the nefarious King Ramses, played by an almost unrecognizable Edgerton. Sigourney Weaver, who first worked with Scott on 'Alien' way back in 1979, also stars in the film, along with Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Aaron Paul.
Said Scott to EW:
What I thought I knew about Moses I didn’t really. Either I wasn’t paying attention in Sunday school or I had forgotten. I was knocked out by who he was and the basics of the story—it has to be one of the greatest adventures and spiritual experiences that could ever have been.
'Exodus: Gods and Kings' will hit theaters on December 12, just in time for awards season. Judging by these new photos, this is indeed an epic project that will garner plenty of attention at the end of the year.
