‘Falling Skies’ Season 2 Already Buzzing About Finale

We're still in that weird lull of TV programming where all of the major network shows have wrapped up for the year, yet none of the major summer shows have made their debut.  'Falling Skies' remains high on that list not for its cool sci-fi premise alone, but also for the buzz-worthy nature of its expanded second season, which should give the under-performing series time to shine!  We've told you a bit about the upcoming run of episodes, but how will it all end?

Why wait for June 17 for season 2 of 'Falling Skies' to premiere on TNT (we've seen the first few episodes and love it, neener neener), when we've got the scoop on the final episodes right here?  The last episodes of the upcoming second season will be notable for introducing former 'LOST' and 'Hawaii Five-0' star Terry O'Quinn as a former mentor of Tom Mason (Noah Wyle's) but one with an agenda all his own.

Episode 2.08 - “Death March” – Sunday, August 5, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)
The 2nd Mass pushes on to Charleston, but some are still grieving the group’s recent losses. Weaver learns more about Tector’s background before the invasion. And Matt begins to bond with a harnessed girl who was found recently.

Episode 2.09 - “The Price of Greatness” – Sunday, August 12, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)
The 2nd Mass meets new faces, while Tom comes across his former mentor and professor Arthur Manchester (guest star Terry O’Quinn). But it's difficult to know whom to trust. Maggie begins to realize that Pope may not be sticking with the group very long. And Tector embraces his military past.

Episode 2.10 - Season Finale: “A More Perfect Union” – Sunday, August 19, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)
When skitters approach the newly combined resistance force, the groups’ interaction surprises everyone. Meanwhile, Tom finds out life-changing news just as the 2nd Mass comes face-to-face with their most dangerous threat to date. Terry O’Quinn guest-stars.

For those unfamiliar with the series, ‘Falling Skies’ follows former history professor Tom Mason as one of the leaders of a human resistance force desperately struggling to fight back and survive in the aftermath of an alien invasion that killed off 90% of the planet’s population.  In addition to protecting his children, one of whom spent time under the aliens’ thrall, Tom maintains a close relationship with the resistance’s doctor Anne Glass (Moon Bloodgood), as well as charismatic rogue John Pope (Colin Cunningham) and military leader Captain Daniel Weaver (Will Patton).
