Before we get into this, I’m gonna warn you upfront this is a pretty grainy, cell phone image of Benedict Cumberbatch filming Doctor Strange in Nepal. If you’re here looking for some hi-res, official Marvel release, you’re barking up the wrong tree. If you’re OK with squinting and speculating, then you’re in the right place. Let’s get to it.

Doctor Strange wasn’t set to begin filming until December, but looks like it may have gotten an early shot, or is doing some second unit work in Nepal, where Strange goes searching for The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) to help repair his hands that were damaged in a car accident.

Here’s the photo, with a scraggly looking Cumberbatch on the far left:

You can see he’s got the classic Doctor Strange facial hair/beard, which must be pasted on because photos of Cumberbatch in London a week ago show him completely clean shaven. (It’s possible Strange only sports this look while haggard in Nepal, to later go clean shaven when he’s back in New York City.)

In addition to Cumberbatch and Swinton, Doctor Strange stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg and Mads Mikkelsen. With filming now underway, hopefully we’ll see more from Cumberbatch and the rest of the cast in an official capacity before paparazzi shots flood the internet.

Doctor Strange, directed by Scott Derrickson, opens in theaters on November 4, 2016.
