It's hard to believe that 'Game of Thrones' is already nearing the end of its second season, what with what seemed like such an arduous wait from the end of season 1.  All season long the various Kings and Princes of Westeros have lost and gained ground in the battle for the Iron Throne, though much of the action has remained off-screen for budgetary purposes.  Guess what's about to change?

Today HBO has unveiled two new photos from the coming episodes of 'Game of Thrones' season 2, the first of which from this Sunday May 20's upcoming installment "The Prince of Winterfell," the second of which comes from "Blackwater," said to be one of the most expensive and climactic episodes the series has shot to date.

"The Prince of Winterfell" will see Theon Greyjoy entertaining a visitor at his newly-seized Winterfell, while Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and the nimble Varys (Conleth Hill) manage to find a bit of common ground, all the while as the fleet of Stannis Baratheon and Davos Seaworth continues its ominous approach to lay siege to Kings' Landing.  In truth, it's "Blackwater" that should have fans most excited (and series creator / episode writer George R.R. Martin nervous), as 'Game of Thrones' depicts its first major battle when Stannis Baratheon finally arrives at King's Landing!

Will Joffrey's supply of Wildfire be enough to drive back Baratheon's Army, or will red priestess Melisandre ooze her way into the proceedings and utilize a little bit of that gross shadow magic?  Check out the first photo of Varys and Tyrion from "The Prince of Winterfell" below, and then gaze on our first look at Bronn (Jerome Flynn) taking flaming arrows to the enemy in "Blackwater!"

Don't forget to check out the teaser for "Blackwater" after "The Prince of Winterfell" airs this Sunday, and as always, tell us what you think in the comments!
