'Game of Thrones' season 4 won't arrive on our HBO until spring 2014, and season 3 Blu-Ray releases won't hit stores until February 18, so what's a 'Game of Thrones' fan deprived of new content to do? Why, check out a fresh deleted scene from season 3 that features Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) and Maester Pycelle (Julian Glover) in a stalwart battle of wits!

The scene in question had originally been presented to fans at the Comic-Con 2013 panel, along with the hilarious memorial video that producers presented in lieu of any new content or major announcements. At the very least the latest 'Game of Thrones' season 3 deleted offering puts Tywin Lannister in his element to see through Maester Pycelle's deceptions, and explain a lost bit of how the deceptively befuddled man ended up back on the small council following season 2.

While we wait for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, HBO has cast in the important roles of the latest run Roger Ashton-Griffiths as Mace TyrellPedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn “The Red Viper” Martell, Indira Varma as his lover Ellaria Sand, and ‘Sherlock‘ star/writer Mark Gatiss in an unknown role. 'Mad Men' star Christina Hendricks' expressed her interest in joining the HBO drama after AMC closes Sterling-Cooper's doors next year, though we doubt the Red God favors us that much.

Outside of those familiar with Martin’s books, relatively little is known of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, though we recently learned that previous season characters Lysa Arryn (Kate Dickie), Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale), Rorge (Andy Beckwith) and Janos Slynt (Dominic Carter) would all return, among others. We also saw the full list of writers and directors for the 2014 season emerge, revealing that season 2 “Blackwater” helmer Neil Marshall will return for the always-pivotal ninth episode.

Both Tywin Lannister and Maester Pycelle will likely have big parts to play next year as well, so check out the 'Game of Thrones' season 3 deleted scene above, and tell us what you most want to see from season 4 in the comments!
