If I were a Marvel sales rep, I would get down on my knees every day and thank Thanos for the series of events that led to Baby Groot. Baby Groot might just be the pinnacle of Hollywood marketing; not only is his cute visage the perfect thing to slap on every action figure, lunch box, and stuffed animal from here to the moon, it’s also a character that sidesteps typical customer cynicism. If fans felt for one moment that Baby Groot was an attempt to sell them more junk, they would push back on James Gunn and Marvel with all their strength. Instead, we are treated to one of the baddest and most adorable killing machines in movie history.

The latest Baby Groot item to take the world by storm (via ComingSoon.net) is this international Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 poster. James Gunn shared the below on his personal Twitter account, which means hopefully we can pick up our own copy of this poster sometime soon:

Baby Groot and a pile of dynamite? Seems about right to me. Everyone’s favorite moment from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie was when Groot straight-up murdered a dozen henchmen, only to turn to his teammates and offer them a glowing smile. If the early trailers for the sequel are any indication, Groot might just accidentally kill us all and do it with a big old smile on his face. I’d ask him to cool it with all the explosions, but I think I know exactly how he’d respond.

Here’s the full plot synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2:
