As Kevin Feige says in the new behind-the-scenes look at James Gunn's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' as debuted during Tuesday night's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' the film is meant to be (the start of) the next level of Marvel movies. From here on out, Phase 2 promises to feature more out-there adventures, which means going into space (and perhaps beyond).
In the latest look at 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' we get to hear from Marvel head Kevin Feige, along with stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana‘s Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, who play the five Guardians, and we also get quick glimpses at the upcoming movie. As this dropped during the latest 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' episode, this behind-the-scenes featurette seems more synergistic than revealing, but still.
For those needing more information on this relatively unknown Marvel property, here's the film's official synopsis:
An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
'Guardians of the Galaxy' will be hitting screens August 1.
