So far, we know who the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' lineup will be: it's Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, Gamera and Rocket Raccoon. But every superhero film needs a strong villain and we haven't heard anything yet on who our heroes will be fighting against. That's all about to change. Meet: THE CONTROLLER.

According to Latino Review, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' will introduce a new villain to movie fans in The Controller. Long a foe of Tony Stark and Iron Man, Controller (aka Basil Sandhurst) will be the right-hand man of Thanos, the overarching villain of Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Whether Thanos makes an appearance in 'Guardians' remains to be seen.) Controller will essentially be doing the bidding of Thanos in film allowing The Avengers to have bigger fish to try in 'The Avengers 2.'

So who is The Controller?

Basil Sandhurst was a scientist who was left disfigured after a lab explosion. Like any good supervillain, he didn't use this accident to teach others about the importance of laboratory safety, he instead built himself a rugged exoskeleton that would allow him to regain movement and, of course, dominate the world. At some point, he was contacted by Thanos who gave him alien technology to upgrade his suit and Sandhurst worked directly for him in his quest to destroy Earth.

The character was a little corny in the comics (he uses an "Absorbatron" to steal the mental energy from people) but hopefully he'll be updated a bit for the film and will feature less of the goofball technology and more of what can make him so scary.

What do you think? Do you like the idea of The Controller being the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' villain?
