Whether we pay attention or not, Crackle keeps eking its way into the #PeakTV market, now looking to ride that FX Fargo wave with the reinvention of a fan-favorite. Guy Ritchie’s Snatch will return as a new original series, following a new group of hustlers in a similar framework.

Crackle announced the news at their 2016 upfront presentation, though no official names have yet been attached to their take on the 2000 British comedy. Reinventing the characters Fargo-style, so reads the new 10-episode series’ synopsis:

New 10-episode, one-hour drama series based on the world of the wildly popular Guy Ritchie movie, SNATCH.

Much like the television series, ‘Fargo,’ Crackle will carry the spirit of the setting in the original feature film, while creating a new world born from the original movie. Informed by a real life gold bullion heist in London, the show centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

The original film starred the impressive likes of Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Lennie James, Dennis Farina, Vinnie Jones and Benicio del Toro, among others, but will Crackle’s reinvented take garner the same appeal? Does the Fargo treatment work for everyone?
