This year we're getting a deluge of spookily-themed kids movies that mix classic horror staples (ghosts, vampires and Frankenstein) with the soft edges of children's entertainment. Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Hotel Transylvania' comes between 'ParaNorman' and 'Frankenweenie,' and now there's a clip.

It focuses on Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) talking to his daughter (Selena Gomez) on her 118th birthday. She wants to see the outside world, and as even a vampire dad is still a dad, he's been protective up to this point. But now it seems he's letting her go. Or is he?

Though brief, this seems to be the crux of the movie. Here's the film's synopsis:

Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them.  On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday.  For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.

And here's the clip. The film opens in theaters September 28.
