Animation will be taking a turn toward the macabre in the coming months. Tim Burton’s resurrecting his early classic ‘Frankenweenie.’ Ghosts and goblins will interact with ‘ParaNorman.’ And Adam Sandler presides over ‘Hotel Transylvania,’ which just dusted off its second trailer.

The concept’s extremely clever, with the hotel of the title acting as a vacation spot for the classic creatures of our youth: Count Dracula, the Mummy, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man and so on. When they need to get away, they escape there. But problems arise for Dracula (Sandler) when a regular old human (Andy Samberg) stumbles on the abode and decides to stay for a while, falling in love with Drac's daughter (Selena Gomez).

The latest trailer reveals a few of the film’s toilet-soaked punchlines (literally), while selling the style of animation that Russian director Genndy Tartakovsky perfect on ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘Dexter’s Laboratory.’

Sony Animation plans to release ‘Hotel Transylvania’ on Sept. 21. Until then, enjoy the latest trailer, and share your thoughts in the comments section below:
