Many have argued that the quality of 'How I Met Your Mother' feels especially uneven this year, owing in part to relationships that served no purpose, or the lack of clarity on whether or not the eighth season will be the show's last, but things are sure to pick up in the next few weeks. And while 'How I Met Your Mother' never lacks for classic holiday episodes, they've never gone behind the traditional half-hour. No longer! Are you ready for the biggest 'How I Met Your Mother' yet?

The holidays are all but upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a bonus hour-long episode of 'How I Met Your Mother,' the first full-length holiday episode in the show's history! 'HIMYM' creator Craig Thomas first revealed the news via Twitter, clarifying that the long-running CBS series' December 17 episode would run an hour, two episodes adding up to one holiday episode.

Between both "The Silence of the Jinx" and "The Robin," Thomas promised that "some really big crap happens!" Another tweet claimed that the episodes had some of the crew in tears. Crybabies.

What do you think has the 'How I Met Your Mother' producers so fired up? Are you excited to see 'How I Met Your Mother's first hour-long holiday episode? Tell us what you think of the current season in the comments!
