When looking to adapt How to Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks looked to one of the greatest movie trilogies for inspiration: Star Wars. While animating the sequel, the creative team was heavily influenced by The Empire Strikes Back. These are just some of the fire-breathing facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which focuses on How to Train Your Dragon 2!

Because this film takes place five years after the original, all the characters and settings had to be redesigned for the sequel. Hiccup, the main human character, is 15 years old in the first film and 20 years old in the sequel, so DreamWorks artists had to turn him from an awkward teen into a young man. The village also learned to live alongside the dragons, which means their town had to be entirely redesigned to fit in the giant beasts.
