Immediately after word broke that MTV would be reviving the iconic '90s slackers 'Beavis and Butthead' for all new episodes, at least one natural question followed.  Could the revival of 'Beavis and Butthead' lead to a similar resurrection for the lovably droll 'Daria?'  At the time, bringing back the classic spin-off on the heels of her more famous predecessors didn't seem like an option, but now a retro revival might pave the way.

According to Entertainment Weekly, MTV's summer series "Retro Mania" has dug up more than its usual fare of 'The Hills' and 'Laguna Beach,' instead going back to the bin to air classic episodes of 'Daria' from July 30 to August 3.  The deadpan queen of Lawndale High hasn't been seen on MTV since the show's finale movie 'Is It College Yet?' all the way back in 2002.

Joining for the revival are comediennes Nikki Glaser and Sarah Schaefer of MTV’s 'Nikki & Sara Show,' who will grace the three-hour morning block of with their own witty commentary. 'Daria' will air from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as the conclusion to "Retro Mania," which kicked off late last month.

Of course, it's not a stretch to think that MTV might want to test the character for modern audiences, the way it successfully revived 'Beavis and Butthead' in 2011.  Then, MTV Networks boss Van Toffler said at the TCA press tour, "'Daria' still airs on MTV2 and Logo, and it's done quite well on both.  We've talked to the creators [about a revival].  So there's not as long a shot as you'd think that 'Daria' will be back on one of our channels."

What say you?  Do you think MTV is testing the waters for a 'Daria' revival, or is it just good to have the character back on the network period?  Tell us your favorite 'Daria' moment, and if you'd watch in the comments below!
