Just when you thought Brett Ratner's 'Hercules' starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was the only Hercules movie out on the market, in steps Renny Harlin who's found his own Grecian strongman in Kellan Lutz for a rival big-budget flick. It makes sense if you think about it -- what better way to attract a huge audience than with a shirtless 'Twilight' heartthrob?

Though, as Harlin pointed out to The Hollywood Reporter, "It takes more than a good physique to portray the most legendary, mythological personality in history — and Kellan has exactly that, personality."

While Ratner's movie will be focusing on a more supernatural-less take on Hercules -- in the same sort of way 'Troy' depicted the Trojan War without the inclusion of the deities -- 'Hercules 3D' seems like it will stick to the mythology. Although major plot details are still unknown, at its center is "a love story between the son of Zeus and the mortal princess of Crete, who was promised to his older brother despite her love for Hercules."

This should be no problem for Lutz, who we've previously seen as a swoon-worthy vampire strongman in 'Twilight,' and then as the God of the Ocean Poseidon in 'Immortals.' Based on this track record alone, it doesn't look like 'Hercules 3D' will be any better than these gems.

Harlin, Sean Hood and Giulio Steve wrote the script for 'Hercules 3D'; Les Weldon and Danny Lerner ('Olympus Has Fallen') will produce; and Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, John Thompson and Boaz Davidson will executive produce.
