One of next year’s more intriguing blockbuster prospects is Kong: Skull Island, which takes viewers to the titular home of the iconic movie monster for his first movie in over 10 years. As many predicted, Warner Bros. debuted the official trailer for the film during today’s panel at Comic-Con, giving us our best look yet at the new action-adventure starring Tom HiddlestonBrie Larson and one ginormous ape.

Delivering on the film’s title, the trailer takes us deep into the heart of Kong’s home — a mysterious and dangerous place filled with mythological creatures and those previously thought to be extinct. Set during the Vietnam War era, Skull Island follows a group of explorers that unwittingly stumble upon the legendary ape in a film that looks visually inspired by acclaimed war films like Apocalypse Now and The Thin Red Line.

The first teaser poster promised to “Awaken the King,” and the trailer does just that, giving us a brief but impressive look at a bigger, bolder Kong than previous iterations. That size upgrade will prove useful for WB’s upcoming Godzilla Vs. Kong movie, in which the two famous monsters will battle it out in what should be a fairly epic match-up.

Here’s the official synopsis for Kong: Skull Island:

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

The upcoming film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John GoodmanJohn C. Reilly, Toby Kebbell, Shea Whigham, Thomas Mann, John Ortiz, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell, and hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
