With the release of 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' we are now 10 movies deep in the Marvel cinematic universe and nothing seems to be slowing down. The films keep on making money, they keep on garnering great reviews and they keep on setting the trend for what's cool and fashionable in modern blockbusters. So if Marvel wants to cut together a five-minute video that recaps their first two "phases" of movies, who are we to deny them such a victory lap?

Although the video won't actually fill in any gaps for newbies or provide fresh information for old fans, it's still a stirring watch. Beginning with the humble-in-comparison 'Iron Man,' the montage sprints through the events of almost every movie (it leaves most of 'The Incredible Hulk' on the ground because, you know, Edward Norton), hitting most of the memorable beats. It's downright surreal to look back on the first 'Iron Man' and realize that is begat not only 'Iron Man 2' and 'Iron Man 3,' but the 'Captain America' movies, the 'Thor' movies and 'The Avengers.'

Is it weird to feel slightly nostalgic for the simpler days when Tony Stark acted alone? Well, yeah. The movies have only gotten better, after all.

In a few decades, when the superhero bubble has burst and Marvel Studios is no longer a force to be reckoned with, someone is going to write a killer book about how all of this went down. The behind-the-scenes stories must be incredible. In the meantime, we'll just enjoy the montage and be thankful that these movies exist in the first place.
