NBC Pilot 2013 About a Boy JJ Abrams Believe Crisis

While we anxiously await news of NBC’s existing bubble series, the peacock network has officially begun handing out its pilot orders for 2013-2014. Jason Katims’ ‘About a Boy‘ remake featuring David Walton and Minnie Driver will go to series, as well as J.J. Abrams drama ‘Believe,’ Dermot Mulroney’s ‘Crisis’ and ‘Will and Grace’ star Sean Hayes’ new sitcom. Get the latest on NBC’s new lineup inside!

We’re still days away from the actual Upfront presentations, but NBC has continued to expand upon their pilot passes yesterday with announcements of what new shows will go to series in the coming year.

Among the early pickups are ‘Friday Night Lights‘ creator Jason Katims’ new ‘About a Boy’ series, as well as J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi drama ‘Believe,’ helmed by ‘Children of Men’s’ Alfonso Cuaron and starring ‘Twin Peaks” Kyle MacLachlan in a story about a gifted young girl and a man sprung from prison who has been tasked with protecting her from the evil elements that hunt her power.

Also moving forward to series are ‘X-Files‘ and ‘Hannibal‘ star Gillian Anderson‘s ‘Crisis,’ examining what happens when an unlikely puppeteer pulls Washington’s elite, including the President of the United States, into an international conspiracy. Sean Hayes’ ‘Sean Saves the World’ comedy effort will go to series as well, joining the already established Michael J. Fox sitcom. Finally, DJ Nash sitcom ‘The Family Guide’ starring Parker Posey, J.K. Simmons and Harold Perrineau will move forward telling the story of a boy who idolizes his blind father.

We’ll keep updating as information pours in, but what say you? Are you interested in any of NBC’s new offerings?
