While some movies are keeping themselves super secret (ahem 'Star Trek Into Darkness'), 'Pacific Rim' has no bones about putting its giant monsters and giant robots on display in a giant way. Case in point: this brand new 'Pacific Rim' poster with a giant robot making his way down a city street.

If you haven't yet heard, Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim' goes something like this:

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.

The robots/Jaegers are our natural heroes and, to date, have been the focus of the marketing campaign. This poster shows the scope of the Jaegers and we wouldn't be surprised to see this sucker plastered on the side of skycrapers in the months ahead.

Unlike most of the big movies this summer, 'Pacific Rim' is a completely original story and not a remake or comic book adaptation. For this reason alone, we're excited. Check out the new poster below and get ready for 'Pacific Rim' on July 12.
