It’s one thing to put Patrick Stewart in a Starz series dubbed Blunt Talk, promoting the dignified X-Men and Star Trek star in all manner of unseemly behavior, but it’s quite another to actually see it in action. Stewart picks up hookers, snorts coke, cuckolds, quotes Oliver Twist, draws dong, and … well, does pretty much everything by the latest trailer.

Produced by Seth MacFarlane, created and run by Bored to Death alumni Jonathan Ames (note Jason Schwartzman popping up at the end), and already renewed for a second season, Blunt Talk also stars Silver Linings Playbook alum Jackie Weaver as Walter Blunt (Stewart)’s motherly manager Rosalie, Adrian Scarborough as Walter’s alcoholic manservant Harry, along with Dolly Wells and Timm Sharp.

So reads Starz’s official synopsis:

Set in Los Angeles, the story follows Walter Blunt, a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news and the fallout from his well-intentioned, but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air. The series will premiere on STARZ in the summer of 2015.

Through the platform of his nightly cable news show, Blunt is on a mission to impart his wisdom and guidance on how Americans should live, think and behave. Besieged by network bosses, a dysfunctional news staff, numerous ex-wives and children of all ages, Blunt’s only support is the alcoholic manservant he transplanted from the U.K. to join him in Los Angeles. The series is greenlit for a two-season, 20-episode commitment.

Starz also released a new poster, while Blunt Talk formally premieres on Saturday, August 22. In the mean, watch Jean-Luc Picard whipped by a manservant in the trailer above.
