A few weeks ago, we got our first look at 'The Place Beyond the Pines' with the arrival of the first trailer. Normally, trailers like those arrive after vague, mysterious teaser posters, but for whatever reason, the exact opposite has occurred here. If anything, this poster lets us know exactly how this movie is going to be marketed (the "OMG MOVIE STAR" approach).

Eventually, there will be another poster for 'The Place Beyond the Pines' featuring the gorgeous mugs of Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper (and it will become a staple on the walls of teenage girls the world over), but for now, Summit just wants you to know that they have a movie coming out starring both popular/attractive leading men. And that there will be rain. And that it's directed by the man behind 'Blue Valentine.'

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines is a rich dramatic thriller, tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains.

And right below this paragraph is the poster. What do you think? Does this film interest you at all? Do barebones teaser posters like this ever get you interested in a movie?
