The cast of AMC’s Preacher ended up … well, depleted by the time Season 1 reached its climactic end, so it stands to reason Season 2 would need to fill up the reservoir. So it is that Game of Thrones alum Noah Taylor joins the cast among three new regulars and more recurring, one of which could represent our new big bad for the season.

Per Deadline, six new actors have joined the cast of Preacher Season 2, including Taylor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Pip Torrens, and Fargo alum Julie Ann Emery as series regulars. Recurring roles will feature Timeless star Malcolm Barrett, Homeland alum Ronald Guttman, and Justin Prentice.

No other details were provided on the exact nature of their roles, but it’s certainly hard to overlook the physical similarity between Torrens and iconic Preacher big bad Herr Starr, at least until we’re told otherwise. If not before, details will surely be confirmed with this coming Saturday’s SXSW presentation, in which participants are promised “an exclusive first-look at season two, featuring executive producer Seth Rogen, executive producer and showrunner Sam Catlin and co-executive producer and comic book writer Garth Ennis.”

Elsewhere of Preacher Season 2, we know that the first season finale more or less wiped the slate clean, destroying the town of Annville, Texas, and with it Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley), Sheriff Root (W. Earl Brown), Donnie Schenck (Derek Wilson), and Emily (Lucy Griffiths). Eugene “Arseface” Root was theoretically spared, while Season 2 will also continue on with Graham McTavish’s “Saint of Killers,” and the as-yet-uncast Herr Starr.

We’ll surely see more from the thirteen-episode Preacher Season 2 in the coming days, but who might the new cast represent?
