'Prometheus' doesn't open for another week (June 8th) but Fox has already announced the DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray. What's more, if you're one of the first 5,000 people to pre-order the Blu-ray from Amazon you'll get a free ticket to see the film in theaters.

Normally it takes a few months for studios to announce their home video plans (mostly because they don't want to dampen the enthusiasm for audiences who want to see the film in theaters), but Fox is trying for a completely different strategy.

They're aiming this 'Prometheus' campaign at the hardcore movie fan; the kind of fan who would want to pre-order a movie before ever seeing it in the first place. Amazon is charging $27.99 for the regular Blu-ray and $34.99 for the 3D Blu-ray.

There are no details on what special features will be included with these discs but considering the 'Alien Anthology' box set was so impressively put together, you can expect that Fox will pull no punches with these 'Prometheus' set.

An exact release date hasn't been announced yet but there are rumors it will be released on October 9th of this year.
