Although it never achieved mainstream success, 'The Raid' is undoubtedly one of the best action movies ever made. So how does a sequel to one of the best action movies even begin to top the original? The newly released trailer for 'The Raid 2' shows us: by going bigger and crazier in every way possible.

The plot should be familiar to anyone who has ever dabbled in the action genre before: a police officer sets out to dismantle a massive criminal organization and kills a whole bunch of people along the way. What's not familiar is Gareth Evans's direction and the film's unique Indonesian martial arts, which are showcased in all of their bone-breaking, skull-shattering, torso-discombobulating glory.

While 'The Raid' was a short, compact movie taking place almost entirely in a single building, 'The Raid 2' is a sprawling two-and-a-half hours long, seemingly taking place in dozens of locations all over the city. The trailer shows off massive brawls, one-on-one fights and high speed car chases, each of them looking a little too raw and little too dangerous. The whole movie just looks unsafe, which only makes the crazy action all the more exciting.

'The Raid 2' is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later today (check back later for our review), but it will arrive in theaters on March 28, 2014. If it's anything like the first film (and it look like the first film turned up to 11), make sure you see this in the biggest, loudest theater you can find.
