One of the biggest questions we were left with at the end of The Force Awakens, aside from “Do you think Luke makes his own organic soap out there on that space island?” was “Who the heck are Rey’s parents?” It’s a question that won’t be answered in the Star Wars universe until Episode VIII hits theaters late next year…unless you’re a real smarty-pants like Daisy Ridley.

While speaking with Time Out to promote the new documentary The Eagle Huntress (in which she serves as narrator), Ridley was asked if she’s excited for fans to learn the identity of Rey’s parents in Episode VIII. Her response was a bit surprising:

I thought a lot was answered in The Force Awakens. Then after the screening I went for a drink with my agent and everyone, and we were chatting away and I realised that oh, in their minds it’s not answered at all!

Basically, Daisy Ridley is probably a spoiler-phobe’s worst nightmare. She’s the type of friend you’d never invite to see an M. Night Shyamalan film or over to binge-watch Westworld because her powers of perception are so great that she’d be calling twists left and right. And then when you’re like, “Huh, I didn’t notice that,” Daisy would say, “Oh, well it seemed so obvious to me,” but because she is probably a good friend, she would say this in a way that is very sincere and kind and not at all judgmental.

In the interview, the actress goes on to explain that she’s frequently asked about Rey’s parents by journalists and fans alike. Although she’s eager for audiences to discover more about her character’s heritage and history in Episode VIII, Ridley cautions, “with answers come more questions, and there’s definitely going to be enough to keep people going for another two years!”

So maybe don’t expect to know everything there is to know about Rey in Episode VIII — which hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
