Much like Marvel, the world of Star Wars is somewhat secretive, leaving fans with plenty of surprises to discover in theaters. Rogue One has been a little more transparent — and that makes sense, given that Gareth Edwards’ spinoff / prequel is the first of Lucasfilm’s new anthology series, the success of which will serve as something of a barometer for future spinoffs. We’ve learned quite a bit about Rogue One over the last year (and even more in the recent weeks leading up to its release), and with two weeks left to go, Edwards has one more interesting piece of intel to share with fans.

Specifically, Edwards has revealed a couple of easter eggs to look out for in Rogue One, and although they aren’t Star Wars-related, the spoiler-sensitive among you may want to back out now.

Edwards was a guest on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, where he shared some very cool easter eggs with the hosts:

In Saw’s cave, there are some cave paintings. One of them is of the creatures that were in my first film, ‘Monsters.’ Then there’s some MUTOs from ‘Godzilla.’ I didn’t ask for it. I just came in one day and saw it.

By Saw he means Saw Gerrera, the character that originated in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is played by Forest Whitaker in Rogue One. As Edwards reveals, there are references to creatures from his previous films in Saw’s cave — specifically the titular monsters from Monsters, the director’s impressive indie feature debut, for which he created most of the digital effects. That film landed him the director’s chair on Godzilla, and the MUTOs (or Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms) from that movie are also depicted in the aforementioned scene from Rogue One.

There are sure to be more easter eggs for us to discover (including a few for eagle-eyed Star Wars fans) on December 16, when Rogue One hits theaters.
