During their decades on the air, Scooby Doo and his human compatriots have encountered all kinds of ghouls, ghosts and monsters. They've also had their fair share of special guest stars, from Batman to the Harlem Globetrotters. So it makes sense that someone would combine both of these concepts and create some art that features Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the team running into special guest stars who also happen to be famous movie monsters.

Created by artist Travis Falligant, these awesome images depict those lovable Hanna-Barbera characters running into some not-so-lovable murderers and monsters. Although Falligant includes plenty of characters everyone will recognize (including Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Ghostface from 'Scream'), we're awfully fond the pieces that feature slightly more obscure characters. Just how, exactly, would the Scooby gang react to the chainsaw-wielding Patrick Bateman from 'American Psycho'? Or the basement-dwelling demon from 'Evil Dead 2'? The least obvious of them puts Scooby himself face-to-face with the severed head of Jason Voorhees' mother, which plays a role in a handful of 'Friday the 13th' movies.

The best thing about Falligant's work here is how he works strictly in the style of the original cartoon. He may be utilizing more modern characters, but he's rendering them in that old fashioned, slightly cheap (but charmingly so!) style. It's wonderful.
