‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ Trailer: Oh Yes, Sharks Will Be Jumped

Syfy’s forthcoming ‘Sharknado’ sequel ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One‘ has been admittedly light with the titular disaster in early teasers and clips, but at long last, the rain has come. Sharks are jumped, cameos are paraded, and we’re pretty sure Ian Ziering hits a shark into a pizza oven in the first full trailer for ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’!

It’s hard to say if the sequel to Syfy’s absurdist disaster will capture the same Twitter magic with its July 30 premiere as the first time around, though the network is certainly swinging for the fences this time. Between shameless celebrity cameos, Ian Ziering flying a chainsaw through a vortex into the mouth of another Great White, and what appears to be Tara Reid contemplating a shark’s malevolently personal vendetta against her, this you can’t miss.

Oh, and were you wondering if ‘Sharknado 2′ finds a way to decapitate the Statue of Liberty and drop it into the city? Well, in the words of the announcer, “Ah, f–k it, who are we kidding?” Meanwhile, here’s how Syfy describes ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One,’ whose cast also includes Vivica A. Fox, ‘30 Rock”s Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick, Judd Hirsch and Kelly Osbourne:

In Sharknado 2: The Second One, the sequel to last summer’s global pop culture sensation, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished iconic sites – and only Fin (Ian Ziering) and April (Tara Reid) can save the Big Apple.
The movie, directed by Anthony C. Ferrante from a screenplay by Thunder Levin, also stars Mark McGrath, Kari Wuhrer, Vivica A. Fox and Judah Friedlander, with cameo appearances including Kelly Osbourne, Judd Hirsch, Perez Hilton, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Andy Dick, Robert Klein, Sandra “Pepa” Denton, Biz Markie, Downtown Julie Brown, Richard Kind and Kurt Angle, among others.

Shark hits the fan on Wednesday, July 30, so take a look at the gloriously ludicrous trailer for ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ above, and tell us if you’ll tune in for Syfy’s latest monster epic!
