Among the earliest of 'Sherlock' season 3 teasers was nothing more than the word "wedding," though the most recent leaked castings and photos from the set have proven that tease to have a variety of possible meanings. Now, however, we see that 'Sherlock's' third cycle will indeed feature a major wedding, but might the bride and groom be who you think? Find out who's getting married in 'Sherlock' season 3 inside!

'Sherlock' may not return until sometime this fall, potentially even later for US viewers, but that hasn't stopped filming and casting notices from giving away all manner of spoilery goodies. The latest look at the set (via SpoilerTV) reveals that season 3 will indeed feature a wedding, between John Watson (Martin Freeman) and real-life partner Amanda Abbington!

Thus far, Abbington has yet to be confirmed as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character Mary Morstan, though to be fair, we have little context for the images we're seeing from the set. Steven Moffat would only admit to Deadline that Abbington’s character has a “significant impact” on both main characters, and could recur in a number of the three episodes each season.

Beyond that, we know that premiere episode “The Empty Hearse” gives reference to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock resurrection story “The Empty House,” while the season's second episode “The Sign of Three” references Doyle’s story “The Sign of Four,” in which John Watson was first introduced to future wife Mary Morstan.

We've included a link to the photos below, but what say you? Are we witnessing a 'Sherlock' wedding updated to the modern day, or is there more to the situation than we realize? Give us your 'Sherlock' season 3 predictions in the comments!
