However many years The Simpsons endures into our future, its Season 27 Treehouse of Horror will try something the series has never (okay, rarely) attempted: the actual murder of Bart Simpson. See Sideshow Bob finally murder his arch-nemesis (repeatedly) in a new clip from Sunday’s latest!

Entertainment Weekly provided the bloody new look at Sunday’s “Treehouse of Horror XXVI,” which sees Bob (Kelsey Grammer) finally succeeding in his decades-long goal, and contemplating life thereafter. The repeat kills aren’t quite so gruesome as you might expect, or any worse than an episode of Itchy & Scratchy, for that matter:

Says executive producer Al Jean of the premise:

You never saw the Road Runner lose. This time you do. [Sideshow Bob’s] whole life has just been about killing Bart, so what’s next? We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he’s had his whole life.”

Kicking off with a couch gag by Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi, other segments of the new Treehouse of Horror will include a Homerzilla (parodying every rendition of the last few decades), and a Chronicle-style short with the kids gaining telepathic powers. In the meantime, enjoy the weird catharsis of watching Bart brutally murdered above, and stay tuned for The Simpsons’ next Treehouse of Horror this coming Sunday.
